I attended the Soil Ecology Society (SES) biennial meeting in Grand Rapids, MI! I presented the work that serves as the second chapter of my dissertation that assesses how northern temperate forests recover from historically high rates of anthropogenic nitrogen deposition, particularly in terms of soil carbon storage and underlying microbial mechanisms governing those fluxes and stores. The science and the conversations were excellent and I had the most wonderful time connecting with friends new and old.
