Biogeochemistry, microbial and ecosystem ecology
Ph.D. Candidate, NSF GRF Fellow (expected graduation May 2026)

Welcome!

I am a biogeochemist and ecosystem ecologist interested in the impacts of altered anthropogenic activity on nutrient cycling and storage via changes in the soil microbial community, currently focusing on responses to changes in atmospheric nitrogen deposition. I'm a third year Ph.D. candidate and NSF Graduate Research Fellow in the Department of Soil Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working with Dr. Zac Freedman.

For updates from the lab and field, find me on twitter @bpropscience and instagram @bpropscience.

My CV is available here.
